Mix 30 Under 30

The people who feature in the 30 under 30 list are amazing, talented individuals who are changing and shaping the commercial interiors industry. They are creative, dynamic and ingenious – and definitely worth celebrating!

The Mix 30 under 30 evening is a combination of drinks, networking and celebration – along with a presentation of trophies by the magazine. We also interview five of the 30 nominated designers as part of our ‘Young Designer Series’ – which you can see below.

Thanks to COVID restrictions being lifted, we were able to get the Class of 2022 together on 26th May 2022 at the London showroom of the event’s headline sponsors Allermuir.

The evening was filled with interesting discussions about design trends and innovations. The creativity of each of the nominated designers was demonstrated in how they are bringing a dynamic and fresh approach to commercial interiors.

Each of the 30 nominees was excited to be part of the Class of 2022. As Adam Britnell, a nominee from hospitality interiors practice DesignLSM, said “It feels amazing because I think design is quite a personal thing - you put your heart into it every day and you're surrounded by really great colleagues. To get nominated, it feels like you're doing something right!”.

Discussion throughout the evening ranged from technical and functional design to trends that are continuing to develop. Topics included hybrid and open plan workspaces, how to create workspaces that work for introverts and extroverts, multifunction spaces, sustainability, collaboration and much more.

It was a fascinating insight into where the young designers’ inspiration comes from, their hopes for the industry, and what is really important to them from both a design, as well as commercial, point of view.
