Responsible Foundations: our waste pillar members get busy!

Here at Amtico, we’re working towards creating a more sustainable future and an integral part of these plans are our sustainability pillars. Made up of our employees from all over the business, they include Fighting Climate Change, Empowering our People and Reducing Waste. This month, our waste pillar members put down their work tools and grabbed their litter-pickers.

Our waste pillar members are committed to finding innovative ways to reduce our waste throughout the production process, our products lifecycles and in all areas of the business; on a crisp autumn morning, the team took action to make a difference on other people’s waste too.

A grand total of 40kg of litter was collected from the area around our Coventry factory, as well as the local canal. It was then brought back to site, where the team sorted the waste collected into metals, plastics and cardboard, ensuring that materials that could be recycled were. Anything that couldn’t be recycled was incinerated for energy generation through our waste provider.
